Bangkok, 28 April 2022 – Good Doctor Technology Thailand (GDTT), subsidiary of Good Doctor Technology (GDT), a regional health-tech company with the vision of providing ‘One Doctor for One Family in SEA’, announces the beginning of its participation in the program of providing out-patient care (OPD) for Covid-19 patients. Patients who have COVID-19 antigen test result showing two lines, and who are asymptomatic or show mild symptoms, can now be treated by GDTT according to new MPH guidelines on Outpatient Treatment with Self Isolation, also known as “Meet, Give Away and Complete”[1].&nbsp;Unlike patients under the Home Isolation (HI) program, who need to register via the 1330 hotline and then wait to be allocated to a NHSO designated hospital, patients under the OPD “Meet, Give Away and Complete” programme can register immediately at any NHSO-approved clinic without a referral document, and then take care of themselves with medicines prescribed at home. The treatment can be obtained from GDTT, which is a NHSO’s partner to deliver OPD care to Covid-19 patients.&nbsp;GDTT offers this service through the SCB SPRING UP mobile application. Patients with positive ATK test results can straight away get direct access to GDTT’s out-patient care, receiving medical consultations via the app, as well as having prescribed medicine delivered to their doorsteps.&nbsp;Dr. Athaporn Limpanylers, Deputy Secretary-General from NHSO, said that after the Ministry of Public Health updated the protocol for treating Covid-19 patients in the green group, those under the OPD care ("Meet, Give Away and Complete") can wear masks to see the doctor and stay at home like other outpatients. To facilitate this protocol, NHSO launched several new initiatives, including collaborations with the Pharmacy Council which invited more than 700 pharmacies across the country to join the network where patients can get their medicines. Another new initiative launched by NHSO was onboarding the SCB’s SPRING UP application, which has a built-in online doctor's consultation service provided by Good Doctor Technology (Thailand). Through this partnership initiated by NHSO, the service has also been made available to Covid-19 patients in the green group.&nbsp;“The Ministry of Public Health has predicted three scenarios after the Songkran festival which are low, moderate and high number of infections. We have prepared for the worst case scenario by making as many services available as possible. If patients are experiencing moderate symptoms they should go to the hospital. But if they are in what we call the green group&nbsp;– which means they do not have any underlying diseases and are not elderly – they will have three different options open to them. Patients can either refer to a nearby hospital or drugstore to pick up their medicines. Another option is to consult a doctor via telehealth services, for example, via the SPRING UP app. The third option is the Home Isolation program, which may be more convenient for those staying with their families. &nbsp;The IDI Research Group supports the "Innovative and Integrated Chronic Disease Management Services" pilot study as a new breakthrough in the telemedicine industry&nbsp;<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Good Doctor Technology Indonesia (Good Doctor) is the first telemedicine company to spearhead a pilot study research within the framework of Prolanis services to encourage the use of telemedicine in the management of diabetes.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">The Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Research Group acknowledges the strategic role of telemedicine and encourages stakeholders to follow up this pilot study on a larger scale to establish evidence-based policies.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">The pilot study results outline how the use of teleconsultation can improve patient compliance, thereby contributing to a significant reduction in blood glucose levels over time.</li></ul>&nbsp;Jakarta, 15 December 2021 - Currently, Indonesia faces problems handling the Chronic Disease Service Program, such as type-2 diabetes. Data from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) in 2021 shows that the number of diabetic patients in Indonesia in 2021 has reached 19.47 million people. This figure puts Indonesia in the fifth position in the world for the number of people with diabetes. This means that sufficient health capacity is needed for the community. Meanwhile, based on the 2020 Ministry of Health Research data, Indonesia currently only has around 321.544 hospital beds to serve approximately 270 million people. This translates to about 1.2 hospital beds per 1.000 residents. Similarly, the ratio of doctors to population is only 0.38 doctors per 1.000 population. Under these conditions, there is an excellent opportunity for health application providers to expand services for chronic disease patients by not only focusing on treatment but also on prevention aspects. As a technology-based integrated health service provider, in close collaboration with IDI Research Group, Good Doctor Technology Indonesia (Good Doctor) took the initiative to pioneer a pilot study within the framework of the Prolanis sketch. This pilot study is expected to encourage telemedicine in the treatment of chronic diseases with comprehensive regulatory support. Head of Medical PT Good Doctor Technology Indonesia, dr. Adhiatma Gunawan, stated, "This pilot study which focuses on chronic disease management demonstrates Good Doctor's commitment to continuously encourage sustainable synergies between telemedicine services and healthcare policy decision makers. By highlighting the role telemedicine and digital health services can play in managing chronic diseases continuously, we hope to support the reduction of BPJS chronic care costs in the long term, when people with chronic diseases are properly cared for. Through this initiative, we hope to continue working with stakeholders to expand this pilot study on a larger scale." The pilot study has two phases, the first begins with a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in December 2020, and then the second phase continues with grouping in January to June 2021. It is carried out in several clinics in the Bekasi and Depok areas with participants ranging from 24 years to 79 years. In this pilot study, Good Doctor collaborated with BPJS offline clinics to measure the effectiveness of teleconsultation in monitoring the blood glucose of diabetic patients at BPJS clinics. The support includes regular automatic reminders/notifications, regular contact/follow-up, online consultations, and curated educational information. Within the three month duration of the pilot study, patients received reminders from Good Doctor’s telehealth platform to check and measure their blood glucose. The results of this study indicate differences between patients who use telemedicine and those who do not, in which patient compliance with telemedicine services contributed significantly to a decrease in blood glucose levels. Through this study, it suggests that the use of teleconsultation is considered to increase patient compliance which suggests that there are opportunities for digital health services to be leveraged to support long-term management of chronic diseases effectively. Ultimately, we hope&nbsp;to decrease the risk of&nbsp;condition&nbsp;deterioration&nbsp;and keep them out of the tertiary setting as much as possible.&nbsp;By increasing the adoption of telemedicine services in Thailand,&nbsp;therein lies the&nbsp;opportunity to improve&nbsp;effective&nbsp;primary&nbsp;care management in the long term.”&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;With the newly&nbsp;expanded&nbsp;reimbursement programs to private healthcare facilities&nbsp;by&nbsp;MoPH, there are&nbsp;two patient management pathways which are supported by GDTT:&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Testing via ATK (Antigen Test Kits), to scale testing through and beyond official RT-PCR means and manage risks through more widespread testing, and&nbsp;</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Primary care for home&nbsp;or community&nbsp;isolation patients, to manage primary care needs of those diagnosed with Covid-19 and treat symptomatic patients.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul>&nbsp;Patients can consult with doctors who&nbsp;will&nbsp;then prescribe&nbsp;them with&nbsp;an Antigen Test Kit if deemed&nbsp;necessary. If results&nbsp;are&nbsp;negative, the patient&nbsp;will still be guided on the appropriate self-monitoring steps; if&nbsp;results are&nbsp;positive, patients&nbsp;are&nbsp;then migrated onto the Good Doctor Technology primary care flow. Patients who require home&nbsp;or&nbsp;community&nbsp;isolation must then register&nbsp;themselves&nbsp;with the NHSO before beginning their period of isolation, at which point they are able to receive additional healthcare services, medicine deliveries and regular&nbsp;virtual&nbsp;follow-up&nbsp;consultations&nbsp;with&nbsp;GDTT’s&nbsp;in-house medical team.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Apart from delivery virtual consultations,&nbsp;GDTT also handles symptomatic patient cases with medication delivery for a period of 14 days whilst the patient is self-isolating. Ministry of Public Health issues Good Doctor Technology with telemedicine license and authorizes the delivery of virtual modes of medical consultations Bangkok, August 5, 2021 – Good Doctor Technology (GDT), a regional health-tech company with the vision of providing ‘One Doctor for One Family in SEA’, officially announces the launch of their Thailand operations upon receiving the newly obtained telemedicine license issued by the Bureau of Sanatorium and Art of Healing under Thailand Ministry of Public Health. <ul><li>Good Doctor Technology Thailand successfully launched its collaboration with Bangpakok 8 Hospital (BPK8), and now invites other hospitals to join the program to expand accessibility of medical services across the healthcare continuum</li><li>With an increased focus on hospital partnerships, Good Doctor Technology has established a mode of best practice for the industry regionally, with opportunity to scale up to meet healthcare demand while reducing hospital footfall&nbsp;</li></ul> Bangkok, 1 June&nbsp;2022 – Good Doctor Technology Thailand (GDTT), a subsidiary of Good Doctor Technology (GDT), a regional health-tech company with the vision of providing ‘One Doctor for One Family in SEA’, signed an agreement with Bangpakok 8 Hospital (BPK8) Bangkok. The agreement enables the hospital’s patients with SSO coverage from their employers to use online consultations provided by GDTT for acute diseases&nbsp;(not including trauma, emergency conditions and chronic disease).&nbsp; The service will be available to patients under the Social Security Office (SSO) scheme which covers formal sector private employees for non-work related sickness. The scheme is financed by tripartite contributions from government, employers and employees, and compensates health care providers on a flat rate capitation basis to cover both ambulatory and inpatient care. A necessary result of this capitation payment system is that the insured need to be registered with a hospital under contract with the formal-sector healthcare system to receive medical treatment. However, due to the limited number of hospitals in the system, these hospitals tend to be overloaded with registered patients, which inevitably results in crowds, long waiting times and overwhelmed doctors and nursing staff. The introduction of telemedicine services can reduce the pressure on medical facilities whilst providing the highest level of convenience and quality of care to patients. These benefits are expected to be amplified by the fact that a relatively high number of people go to hospitals for non-urgent or non-serious issues which can easily be managed or even resolved via tele consultations, and often require only the issuing of a prescription. The GDTT online services will help BPK8 address this by simplifying the process of obtaining primary care medical services by patients. The partnership will further relieve the pressure from the hospital, and thereby&nbsp;contribute to closing the healthcare accessibility gap in the entire country. Dr. Sudhichai Chokekijchai, Head of Medical Team of Good Doctor Technology Thailand (GDTT), explained: “Our collaboration with Bangpakok 8 Hospital, and the successful implementation of the program through the Good Doctor Technology Thailand mobile application, has enabled us to set a new precedent for hospitals in Thailand which support SSO patients better through digital healthcare services such as telemedicine. With more hospital partnerships forged, we hope to continue our support in increasing the accessibility of quality healthcare services by more people by&nbsp;handling their primary care consuls and management for non-serious cases through our telemedicine services. Ultimately, we believe that by triaging the right care at the right time to people at any stage of their care journey, it will help to relieve the pressure on traditional healthcare facilities. For these companies the service comes at no extra cost, and only requires a consent for unlocking the access to GDTT’s online consultations. Modernform, one of the first private sector employers to join the project, sees GDTT services as a way of addressing some business challenges: “A lot of time is wasted with employees&nbsp;queueing up in hospitals, waiting for referrals or speaking to a doctor about their health concerns during their busy work schedules. This inevitable affects productivity, and a less productive workforce can impact the success of the entire organisation due to&nbsp;significant levels of absenteeism, poor performance which will ultimately lead to a loss in business revenue,” said&nbsp;Mr Jiruss Rianchaiwanich, Vice President of Human Resources and Administration from Modernform. “Now our employees who are registered with Bangpakok 8 Hospital will be able to access medical consultations right at their desk, if required. They are also able to receive medicine sent directly to the office”.
